Finally right? I had a couple comments of people asking how to do this, and then a couple of emails following up from anxious readers wanting to make something personal for their Facebook page. Here is how I do mine, using only one program!
First step – Download Googles Picasa – It’s FREE and a great way to keep all of your pictures organized!
Step 2 – Select the album that you want to use most of the pictures from, or create a specific folder with everything you want to use (will save you a step below). Once you have selected the album (just by having it highlighted on the side, or above your pictures) click Create at the top, then Picture Collage.
Step 3 – Once in the Picture Collage, first thing you should do is change the size of the collage you are making to the size of the Facebook Cover photo. Select Settings – Add Custom Aspect Ratio – Make your dimensions 850×315.
Step 4 – Drag your first photo on. If you decide to use a background, drag that on, and adjust it to how you want to fit the background. I got my background for free on Picaboo Backgrounds.
Tip: If you need to add in pictures, and are worried about the order (what is on top or bottom) don’t worry! Just right click and it will give you the option to move a photo to the top or bottom.
Step 5 – Drag and place the rest of your photos! If you need to get some that are not in your Clips bar, just click ‘get more’.
Step 6 – Once you are happy with the layout, select ‘Create Collage’ on the bottom left. Picasa will create it and put it up for editing. You can play around with their editing options, change the colour, add borders, or even font. (I used the Lomo-ish filter and added font to mine)
Step 7 – Save your file somewhere where you can find it easily (desktop?), and upload it as your new Timeline Cover photo!
Have fun!!! Please let me know if you have ANY questions at all, or if something is not clear.
