Well, day one of our Florida Funshine trip is done. We left at 4:30am, and didn’t settle into our hotel room until around 9pm. It’s been a very long day, but it went better than I thought it would. Other than just a couple minor melt downs, the boys did wonderfully. H (3yrs) only napped twice, once while it was still dark out, and once nearing the end of the trip, and both times for only about an hour. Q (1.5yrs) napped on and off, and seemed to only get fussy when hungry or right before passing out. I planned ahead to try and keep them as entertained as possible (more on that coming soon), and the almost 13 hour trip few by.
The 2011 Ford Explorer we are driving has been a dream so far. It’s extremely comfortable, and not cramped at all. The cruise control has been one of my favorite features so far, and the GPS has kept us easily on course (more to come on this as well).
For now, I am off to bed. Another long day ahead of us, with a early start. By the time this is published, we should hopefully be about halfway through the remainder of our trip.
